Samode PalaceSariska

Dry decidious forests along the ancient Aravalli range and plenty of exqusite varities of flora and fanua-- this is what Sariska is all about. An excellent Tiger country and the royal hunting ground, Sariska was declared a sanctuary in 1955 and was incorporated in the Project Tiger in 1979. Herds of sambar, nilgai and chital graze the land and among the tall grass hides ultimate predator, the Tiger. There are other carnivores like hyena, jungle cat and caracal which complete the complex ecological web of the Park. The splendid ruins scattered in the vicinity gives it an added interest.

BikanerBikaner
Bikaner forms one of the vertex of the desert tourist triangle. A land of rippling sand and scorching sun, Bikaner is like an oasis in this arid and rocky scrubland. The town derives its name from its founder Rao Bikaji. During those times Bikaner was a bustling trade center and was known as Jangladesh for its geographic characteristics. The region is known for the best riding camels in the world. The monuments display some of the finest creations of Rajput civilisation. Outside influence is minimal here and the traditional life style endures.

The second part of the desert tourist triangle, Jaisalmer is popularly known as Golden city due the golden coloured buildings here. The legend has it that Rawal Jaisal laid the foundation of the city in 1156 after consulting a local hermit by the name of Eesul,. The location of Jaisalmer has kept it almost untouched by outside influences. It was the last kingdom in the region to sign the instrument of agreement with the British. The harsh climate blends with beautiful culture of Jaislamer to sum up a memorable experience. The age old monuments have withstood the buffeting winds of the desert and continue to enthrall the visitors. Every house has exquisite carvings and filigreed work all over. Jaislamer is rightly called the museum city.

UdaipurUdaipur

Min. Temp. 9.0 degree C

In southern Rajasthan is located a the city of lake, Udaipur. Serene and the pristine beauty of this place makes this one of the most romantic places in India. The white marble palaces, placid blue lakes and a gridle of green hills are in contrast to the battle scarred fortress towns of the state. One can take a short break from Udaipur to the historic Chittaurgarh. Allow yourself a day or two to this place and drive through the Aravalli hills which offers delightful glimpse of rural Rajasthan. The Kumbhalgarh fort and Ranakpur are two magnificent sights from Udaipur.
