Jaisalmer
The deserted town of Jaisalmer has a distinct charm associated that makes.
Its sand-yellow ramparts rising out of the arid Thar present a mesmerizing
picture. Villagers dressed in colored traditional dresses with an
elaborately tied turban and town's stone architecture make it a destination
par excellence.
Places to visit
Jaisalmer Fort
Located in the heart of Jaisalmer, The Jaisalmer Fort or 'Sonar Kila' is
reputed as one of the latest princely fortification in Rajasthan. The fort
is approached through Ganesh Pol, Suraj Pol, Bhoota Pol and Hawa Pol. The
numerous palaces and havelis of the fort represent an aesthetic sense that
makes it a distinct travel attraction.
Gadi Sagar Tank and the Folklore Museum
Visit the Gadi Sagar Tank that was once Jaisalmer's sole water supply.
Countless temples and shrines that are located around the lake add to its
attraction. The sandstone bricks of the temples glow with a warm deep ochre
in the evening light giving it a distinct appeal.
The delightful little Folklore Museum offers an interesting display of
religious folk art.
Havelis
Countless havelis that are spread across the city of Jaisalmer are sure to
take you back to the time when wealthy merchants used to come to the city
for trade. Patwon ki Haveli is the most magnificent and elaborate of the
havelis.
Excursions
Wood Fossil Park
Located at a distance of 17 kms from Jaisalmer, Wood Fossil Park has an
amazing collection of fosslils dating back to the time immemorial.

Mandore
Located at a distance of just 8 kms from Jaipur, Manodre offers countless
breathtaking tourist attractions. It includes beautiful gardens, rock

Major places of interest in the city include Hall of heores, Ajit Pol (the

includes Poddar Haveli, which is a cluster of magnificent mansions. Other
